- The quasi-legal ownership of an object: Object entry – An object which has an object record created in the ICMS which has not yet or will never be formally incorporated into Kew collection; Acquired not owned – An object which is in the care and possession of RBG Kew, but as the country of origin retains ownership rights, we do not formally accession; Accessioned - An object which has been formally incorporated into Kew collection; and Deaccessioned – An object which was formally incorporated into Kew collection, but for one reason or another we have decided it will no longer be part of Kew collection.
Availability Status (field, AvailabilityStatus, CollectionObjectAvailabilityStatus )
- The physical presence of an object either onsite or offsite. This does not reflect Kew ownership and/or any other restrictions enforced on sharing data, images and/or any parts of physical object: Pre-accession – Object is not accessioned; In collection – Object is in collection. On loan – Object is on loan; Lost – Lost object; and Disposed donated – Object is donated to another institute; Disposed destroyed – Object is destroyed; In use - the item is not in its original location because it has been taken out for use on the Kew site; Not available - in collection - the item is within the collections but should have restricted or no access; On display - on display at Kew; Missing - used when an item is not found in the home location.
